How interesting to read about so many aspects of your life, woven together with word play. And me too, living in the plains but love/ admire the mountains. Something about the energy they hold. Massive :)

Thank you, Ankita!

For me there's something greater than mountains in reassurance: trees. Can't hug a mountain, see 😀

Massive or Massif, whatever you call them, mountains are mountains, however high they are. Mighty and standing tall against every odd.

Like you, I was born in the plains, and the highest point near my home was 1145 meters. I saw it for the first time as a kid and fell in love with the mountains forever. And I am more fascinated with the secrets of mountains hidden under the clouds.

Thanks for the image of the known/unknown mountains from the remote land, I wish to visit someday.

Mountains are a different kind of magic.

That said, this piece was never about mountains or music, Manish 😀

I don’t care much when I read word call “Mountains” 🫢

Wow the image is incredible, isn't is fantastic what your brain does when you see that in the fog and you can only fill in the blanks with even higher, higher, higher thoughts? Matterhorn did a bit that to me but I was corrupted by the known images of the top, even as hidden as it was.

Definitely!

At no point during the entire trip navigating that part of Antarctica did we ever catch sight of any summit. That's my lasting memory of the place. And a prayer too that much of that remote place remain hid from us. My first thought when I caught sight of the continent was "we shouldn't be here; we shouldn't sully this place". That thought has remained.

That does seem like an appropriate thought for pristine places..

Hey! Great to read you today!

That's some photo. Stunning terrain and a bonus penguin.

Speaking trivially, have you looked into the lowest highest point? For example: Do you know which state has the lowest elevation? What's the highest point in that state? The lowest highest point. The Low-est High-est Point. 🤘🤨

Great piece, RAM. I liked the way it wandered as you talked about your meandering journey.

Thank you, Kristi! Every kindness counts 😊

I've moved on from trivial to drivel like I said. However, I am intrigued; which of the united states is this?

I wouldn't be what I am had I not let myself wander. It's been good. I wouldn't trade it for anything even as I spend my days now mostly in exhaustion, body and mind. It keeps me going (do not pardon the pun).

Delaware is the state with the overall lowest elevation. The highest point in Delaware is the Ebright Azimuth, at an elevation of 448 ft. above sea level. The lowest highest point. Don’t mind me.

I enjoy the musings of your wanderings.

Thank you! The level of my understanding - such as it is - of the world just got elevated a little more.

I first came across Delaware (not the place but the people) when I read "The Last Of The Mohicans" when I was a kid. I have read that book a few times since because it moved me. But back then I wasn't a mountain; I was barely a bump on the earth's surface.
